Collection: Givenchy
Hubert de Givenchy founded the House of Givenchy in 1952 and launched a new collection with floaty skirts and puffy blouses made from raw cotton. John Galliano succeeded Givenchy before moving to Dior, followed by Alexander McQueen and then by Julien Macdonald in 2001. The reigns were passed on to Riccardo Tisci in 2005. Tisci added a dark and sensual touch as well as graphic silhouettes to the house.
The first woman to hold the position at Givenchy, British designer Clare Waight Keller was appointed as Artistic Director in 2017 and continues to create iconic bags with a gothic style with an innovative yet refined edge. Waight Keller designed Megan Markle’s wedding dress and was presented with the British Designer of the Year Womenswear Award at the British Fashion Awards in 2018.
