The Chanel Médallion Tote was first introduced in 2005 as part of the brand's Spring/Summer collection. The bag was designed by Karl Lagerfeld and features a large CC logo medallion in the centre. The Médallion tote was originally available in a variety of colours and finishes, including black, white, red, and pink, caviar leather, lambskin, patent leather and velvet. 

The bag quickly became a favourite among celebrities and everyday women alike. In 2007, Chanel released a limited edition version of the Médallion tote that featured a diamond-encrusted CC logo medallion, and was priced at $26,000!

The Médallion Tote has either gold or silver hardware, and the interior of the bag is constructed from black leather. The black and cream caviar leather versions remain the most popular. 

Chanel ceased production of the Médallion tote in 2013, but the bag remains a popular collector's item due to its timeless design and durability.
