One of Chanel’s house codes is blown out of proportion (literally) on the Cocoon bowling bag. Inspired by the jackets worn by stable boys, Coco Chanel first introduced the quilted handbag in February 1955. Here, the quilt appears contemporary when made from durable nylon. Fastened with a zip and topped with two handles, the interlocking CC is stamped at the front beneath a zipped pocket and the interior is lined in red (as was the original 2.55) with an additional zip pocket. Stick to the monochrome palette or let it take centre stage and carry alongside an outfit in bright hues.
Treat the bag you've ordered with the love and respect it deserves during your time together, so other members can get as much joy out of it as you. If you’re worried about any marks at all, always speak to us first so we can advise on the best action to take. In general, kindness goes a long way— the bags in our collection much prefer to sit on your lap than the floor, for example, and don't love feeling overstuffed. We inspect each bag upon return, and we’ll let you know if there’s any issues at all.

How do you grade your bags?
To ensure your order meets your expectations, we determine each bag’s condition before listing it on our website and share this condition grade on each bag’s page. Some of our vintage styles and classic bags have already lived a full life (if only bags could talk…) and may show unavoidable signs of light wear. We have designed a straightforward condition grading matrix to fairly value and categories our styles, using an 6-letter grading system. If you have any questions regarding our condition grading, please contact our membership team.
