Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Bags
In 2003, Takashi Murakami was commissioned by Louis Vuitton to create a range of accessories that would appeal to a younger, hipper audience. The result was a collection of colourful handbags and accessories that quickly became must-haves for fashion-savvy consumers.
The collection was inspired by Murakami's "Superflat" aesthetic, which combined traditional Japanese motifs with pop culture references. Popular pieces in the collection were the "Cosmic Blossom" Pochette Accessoires, the "Multicolor Priscilla" Tote and the " Multicolor Pochette Accessoires", with those bags featureing Murakami's signature blend of bright colors and cartoonish imagery.
