In 1856, Thomas Burberry establishes Burberry in Basingstoke at just 21 years old, founded on the principle that clothing should be designed to protect people from the British weather.
Previously at the helm of Givenchy, in 2017 Riccardo Tisci was appointed as Chief Creative Officer at Burberry. Tisci has long been renowned for his vision of dark romanticism, high glam evening wear to hi-tech athleisure, giving the traditional Burberry brand a modern revamp.
