It’s July? What happened to May? With each day blending into the next, we realise how much we took for granted when life was seemingly much less complicated. As we open up and adapt to this new world, it's ok to feel nostalgic for pre-quarantine 'normalcy'. On the eve of what would have been London’s Pride Parade, an important annual tradition for so many of us, this rings especially true.
As always, I remain focused on the silver linings. I’m inspired by a spirit of connectedness that’s developed in the wake of this humanising force. We're having meaningful conversations with people in our own home and beyond. We're carving out time for introspection and self-education to listen to new voices and discover different perspectives. ‘The great reset’.
It was only last year that New York played host to a WorldPride event that drew a reported 150,000 marchers. It all feels impossible now. Still, the significance of Pride can never be cancelled. Again, we have an opportunity to self-educate; to learn about the progress made and the injustices that the LGBTQ+ community continue to face globally. We have an opportunity to show support to LGBTQ+ peoples in our communities and connect with each other digitally.
Let’s keep the conversation going on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. We want to hear from you!
Sending love,
